Senior Electrical EngineerIMEG is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical team in Rock Island, Illinois, with a primary focus on healthcare projects. In this role, you will lead design efforts, manage projects, and provide engineering solutions for complex building electrical systems. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions that meet client needs and industry standards.Principal ResponsibilitiesLead and review electrical system designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software to ensure compliance with codes, IMEG quality standards, and safety requirementsPerform site assessments, technical analyses, and reporting; provide technical support to resolve field issues with limited senior oversightCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and support project interviews and presentationsMentor and develop staff while staying current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and contributing to continuous improvement and innovation at IMEGRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) License required7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industryAdept in the technical aspects of one's discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systemsKnowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam RevuAbility to mentor, train, motivate, and lead othersAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseAbility to sell work and develop client relationshipsStrong training and mentoring skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays This position is not eligible for sponsorship.Why Join Us IMEG puts people first—with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
