Project work will consist of leading the electrical engineering and design approach in collaboration with Senior Engineering Leads for projects across EV charging, electric utility, renewable energy, and telecommunications industries. The Electrical Engineer also assists with the delegation of assignments, resource allocation, and the oversight of quality and timeliness of deliverables.
Advanced problem solving and analytics will be employed and shared with the team as well as mentorship and training.Job Responsibilities:Perform quality analysis and quality control for team of engineers in the production of electrical engineering design drawings, construction drawings, cost estimates and other contract documents across various industriesStrong understanding and ability to complete designs per NEC, NESC, NFPA 780, relevant IEEE publications, client standards, and local jurisdictional requirementsPerform engineering site surveys and/or collaborate with field crewsElectric Utility coordination for design of new service installations and upgradesAbility to complete and review detailed power distribution designs for low and medium voltage systems, including but not limited to the following:Complex single and three-line diagramsProtection, control, and wiring schematicsLoad analysis and panel schedulesRelay protection schemesDuct bank designs including ampacity calculationsShort-circuit and protection coordination studiesArc flash hazard analysisEquipment specification and reviewGenerator Backup SystemsUninterruptible power supply (UPS) systemsDC power plant and battery systemsEV charging designs for retail and fleet deploymentsBattery energy storage system (BESS), solar photovoltaic (PV), and microgrid systemsLighting protection and grounding electrode systemsSoil resistivity, fall-of-potential, and continuity testingElectrical construction detailsInteract with internal multi-disciplinary team members to expedite project completion and approvalsMaintain NB+C standards and templatesEvaluate designs for constructabilityPerform, review, and approve electrical engineering deliverables and other construction contract documents with a high level of accuracy and strict attention to detailCollaborate with NB+C team and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient, effective, and innovative approach to meet the client's needsProvide guidance and training to junior engineering team membersCollaborate with Design Team Leads to identify and correct project performance issuesAssist the Senior Electrical Engineering Leads with the daily operations of the electrical engineering teamQualification:B.S. in Electrical Engineering required5+ years of relevant engineering experience requiredEIT/PE preferredExcellent teamworkSelf-motivated and results drivenElectrical engineering software experience required (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, CYME, CYMCAP, PowerWorld, XGSLab, CDEGS, PLS-CADD, etc.)AutoCAD or Microstation experience preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExtensive technical experience and knowledge in electrical engineering principlesCritical thinking and problem solving for complex designsAbility to work autonomously without supervision requiredStrong written and oral communications skillsExceptional organization and time management skills
