As a key member of MicroVision's Hardware Design Engineering team, you will collaborate with various technical teams in the company to design and take into production market defining Automotive LiDAR products.The Senior Electrical Engineer contributes to the design, development, and validation of circuit boards and electrical subsystems for automotive LiDAR systems. This role participates in the product development lifecycle, applying strong board-level design skills and hands-on problem solving across development and integration phases.
The ideal candidate brings solid technical depth in analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power circuit design, and is eager to grow toward increased ownership and technical leadership over time.Own the design and development of circuit boards for automotive LiDAR products, from concept through production releaseParticipate in board-level architecture decisions, schematic development, component selection, and design tradeoff analysis for mixed-signal, power, control, and interface circuitsCollaborate with mechanical, firmware, systems, optics, manufacturing, test, quality, and supply chain teams to support successful product integrationExecute hardware bring-up, debug, integration, validation, and characterization activities in both laboratory and system-level environmentsDevelop and execute test plans to verify performance, functionality, reliability, and design robustnessInvestigate and resolve design, integration, and manufacturing issues through structured root cause analysis and corrective action, with support from senior engineers as neededApply design for manufacturability (DFM), design for test (DFT), and design for reliability (DFR) practices throughout the product lifecycleReview PCB layouts to verify implementation of electrical requirements, including power integrity, signal integrity, grounding, thermal considerations, and EMI mitigationGenerate and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, schematics, test reports, engineering change documentation, and release artifactsSupport product sustainment activities, including component changes, obsolescence management, supplier issues, yield improvement, and continuous product improvementParticipate in design reviews and contribute to improving team processes and best practicesMicroVision offers a flexible work schedule that could include a hybrid schedule of onsite and remote work, subject to team and business needs.
