Senior Electrical EngineerGraniteville, SC Full Time Work Model: Onsite (Manufacturing Plant)We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide electrical and automation expertise across one or more areas of the plant. This role is responsible for supporting operations through technical leadership, troubleshooting, and project execution. The engineer will manage capital projects such as new machine installations and upgrades with budgets ranging from $50K to $1M, ensuring all work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.Primary ResponsibilitiesServe as the electrical engineering subject matter expert (SME) for assigned plant areas.Provide technical engineering support to internal customers including Operations and Maintenance.Lead continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action projects.Manage and execute capital and expense funded projects including:New machine installationsEquipment upgrades and retrofitsAutomation improvementsAnalyze project needs and engineering challenges, ensuring solutions meet design and operational requirements.Oversee project workflow and coordinate internal/external resources to ensure:On-time deliveryQuality complianceBudget adherenceEnsure all relevant safety requirements and legal standards are observed and implemented.Engineering & Technical ResponsibilitiesCreate and finalize electrical designs meeting scope, safety standards, and project requirements.Develop project documentation including:Bills of Materials (BOM)Spare parts requirementsManage and coordinate automation vendors and external contractors for equipment installations.Develop and update engineering drawings using Autodesk products (AutoCAD preferred).Perform project/equipment risk assessments and implement safety countermeasures.Design and implement control system solutions including:Hardware designPLC programmingHMI programmingVFDs and servo drivesControl system networking & systems integrationSpecify and procure electrical hardware and engineering services.Support commissioning activities including:Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)I/O checkoutMachine start-up and commissioningMust-HavesStrong work ethic and self-starter attitudeAbility to manage capital and expense budgets to meet plant objectivesMinimum 5+ years of industrial electrical engineering / automation experienceStrong troubleshooting mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced plant environmentRequired Technical SkillsProficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs, remote I/O, HMIsStrong experience with Rockwell software (Studio 5000 / RSLogix, FactoryTalk View, etc.)Ability to troubleshoot and program PLCsExperience with industrial ethernet communication and machine network layoutKnowledge of equipment electrical safety including:Hardware design & component selectionArc flash safety requirements per NFPA 70ERisk assessment and countermeasure implementationPreferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsStrong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholdersExperience managing:ContractorsMaintenance techniciansAbility to design, develop, and oversee complete electrical control systems end-to-endExperience supporting multiple production departments or complex plant environmentsEducation Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline (required/preferred depending on candidate strength)Industry ExperienceExperience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferredKnowledge of production and maintenance processes is a plus
