Electrical EngineerThe Airborne Antenna Department is seeking electrical engineers with knowledge of analog electronics, power electronics, power systems, and control systems. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of extensive industry design experience, electronics knowledge, and hands-on laboratory skills. The department is responsible for design engineering including the following areas:Power System Design - Power System Noise, System Simulation and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High Voltage Design, Power Sources, GeneratorsPower Conversion - AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise ControlsPower Distribution - Ground, Air, and Shipboard, Power Generation, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant SystemsPower Sub-System Design - Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short Circuit and Stress AnalysesControl Systems – Servo Control Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems, Command Generation, Inertial Stabilization, Navigation AlgorithmsThis position is an onsite role, located in McKinney TX.What You Will Do:Broad range role in support of critical production processes.Responsible for second-level troubleshooting of Production Test Equipment and Deliverable Hardware issues, after escalation from Engineering TechniciansMonitoring test station health through test data analysis; addressing failure trends at testRoot cause analysis & corrective action.Work closely with a team of engineers to develop proven designs based on system performance and operational specifications.May also support a team in the design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power system, conversion, distribution, or control systems products.Perform design work within the bounds of a given budget and schedule.Present reviews of technical data to senior program or executive leadership, technical staff, and customer community.
Manage related risk discussions.Lead teams to success with schedule, budget, and technical executionEngage in personal technical growth and facilitate technical growth in peers and junior engineers. Help to understand what opportunities are needed to mature the organization on the technical front.Qualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience to include any combination of the following:Experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub-system design and/or control systemsExperience in modeling and simulation using LTSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer-based toolsQualifications We Prefer:Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering Extensive hardware development experience in a Department of Defense environmentDemonstrated ability to lead/manage a technical or integrated product teamKnowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system componentsExperience interfacing with procurement and manufacturing as well as external suppliers to ensure proper implementation of product designsExperience interfacing with DoD customer communityExisting security clearanceExcellent written and verbal communicationThis position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
