Scope of work includes but is not limited to: component selection, BOM/revision maintenance, design specification determination, process and procedure evolution, isolation of system performance gaps within an operations environment and fixture design supporting qualification of critical parts' performance.
This role will interface regularly with other engineering teams throughout the operations, service, hardware and software development organizations, reporting to the Sr Manager responsible for Sustaining EngineeringRoles and Responsibilities:Designs & develops electrical/electronic/electro-mechanical solutions for released productsEngineering support of products throughout the Product's LifecycleCreates and evolves fixturing in support of critical part performanceEvolves product and process design to prevent failure trendsValidates and/or generates specification of components for existing designsModifies/revises electrical schematics and mechanical assemblies using AutoCAD, Orcad, and Visio Professional softwareMaintains bills of materials for existing designs/projectsWorks closely with Material Procurement (Purchasing)Works closely with Manufacturing and/or Extended factories to update test procedures due to changes in components/design and processImplements customer and internal change-order processesWorking within copy exactly requirementsOccasional travel both within the USA and overseas may be required in support of Engineering ProjectsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent5 years plus of related work experience, blend of development and manufacturing engineering environmentsKnowledge of Orcad, PCB designKnowledge and understanding of power distribution for industrial machines a mustMust be familiar with NEC, NFPA-79, SEMI, Copy Exactly, UL508, IEC/EN safety standardsBroad understanding of Automation Systems, Control Systems, and Power Distribution Systems including Electrical Controls, Electrical Distribution, PLC's, Pneumatics, Actuators, Servo Systems, and Mechanics is required.Experience with broadband light sources would be advantageousExperience in creating test programs to compliment fixture creation a plus.Why Join Onto Innovation?At Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter—and so should your well-being.
