Senior Electrical Engineer in Nationwide

Senior Electrical Engineer

£60 per hour - Outside IR35

Remote with occasional site visits

6 month initial contract

Key responsibilities:

Provide electrical engineering support across BESS and grid connection projects
nReview contractor and consultant electrical designs
nSupport projects through FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning phases
nReview Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Protection studies, Earthing designs, HV equipment specifications
nSupport grid connection activities with DNOs, Grid, ICPs and OEMs
nReview load flow, fault level and protection coordination studies
nProvide technical assurance throughout project delivery
nSupport procurement activities including technical bid evaluations
nAssist with commissioning, energisation and handover activities
nEnsure compliance with UK Grid Code, G99 and relevant IEC/BS standardsEssential requirements:

Degree qualified Electrical Engineer / Power Systems Engineer
nStrong HV electrical engineering background
nExperience within BESS, renewable energy, power or HV infrastructure projects
nExperience with HV systems (11kV-132kV), substations, transformers, switchgear and protection systems
nExperience reviewing electrical designs and contractor documentation
nKnowledge of UK grid connections and G99 requirements
nExperience working with DNOs, Grid or ICPsDesirable:

BESS project experience
nExperience providing technical assurance or design review on behalf of an asset owner/developer
nExperience reviewing EPC contractor designs and managing electrical engineering interfaces
nExperience with power system modelling software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or PSCAD
nSCADA/substation automation knowledge
nCommissioning and energisation experience
nCEng or working towards chartership
