The position is responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm system, low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control), etc. all for the purpose of bidding and construction for various projects.
This position will work with a team of engineers to design energy efficient buildings for various clients of CMTA. Our ideal candidate is typically a self-motivated individual who thrives on helping clients and has a strong technical background. This position will be located onsite in our Chicago office.Key Responsibilities:Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractorsLeads new project pursuits by providing input on RFPs/RFQs and participating in project interviews and presentationsProvide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineersPrepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specificationsProfessionally stamp drawings, prepare affidavits, etcEffectively communicates scope, schedule, and budget to clients, co-workers, and technical teamsInteracting with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication. Lead and guide meetings as needed.Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasksCoordinates with all disciplines to integrate work and client requests into designApply knowledge of engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirementsDesign and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirementsResearch and analyze clients design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applicationsReview contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documentsDesired Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; PE preferred8+ years of experience with MEP designExperience with internal and external project managementExperience in MEP design and specificationsExperience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationshipsExperience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial market sectors preferredProficiency with Revit/AutoCADAbout LegenceLegence (Nasdaq: LGN) is a leading provider of engineering, consulting, installation, and maintenance services for mission-critical systems in buildings.
