Senior Electrical Engineer (Hybrid)RFS Engineering is now a Salas O'Brien companyJob Summary: The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and leadership of complex building electrical and power systems projects. This role provides technical expertise across utility interconnections, power generation and distribution, lighting, life safety systems, and sustainable design initiatives, while also engaging directly with clients. Candidates with deep electrical systems expertise are encouraged to apply.Responsibilities:Lead the design and delivery of complex building electrical systems across all project phasesManage and mentor design teams, providing technical oversight and quality assuranceDesign and coordinate systems including utility interconnections, medium-voltage distribution, standby and prime power generation, UPS systems, photovoltaic power systems, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and lightning protectionPerform and oversee power system studies including short circuit, load flow, power quality, harmonic analysis, and arc flash analysis using SKM Systems Analysis and/or EasyPowerDevelop electrical master plans and support long-term infrastructure strategiesSupport cogeneration, prime-rated power, and renewable energy system integration, including PPA coordinationCollaborate with architects, owners, utilities, and contractors to resolve technical challengesProvide utility rebate support and contribute to sustainable design strategies, including LEED, LBC, PHIUS, and WELL certificationsParticipate in client meetings, presentations, and project coordination effortsQualifications and Experience:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) requiredMinimum of 10 years of experience designing and leading design teams for building electrical systemsProfessional Engineer (PE) license requiredDemonstrated experience with complex power distribution and generation systemsProficiency with SKM Systems Analysis and/or EasyPower preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work confidently in client-facing environmentsProven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneouslyLocation: Hybrid in either one of the following locationsBoston, MA | Boston, MA 02110, USALaconia, NH | Laconia, NH 03246, USAPortland, ME-Hanover St | Portland, ME 04101, USATravel: Up to 20%Compensation & Benefits: The expected base salary range for this role is $110,000-$150,000 USD per year.
Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
