Senior Electrical EngineerThe Bethesda, MD office at Salas O'Brien is looking for a standout Electrical Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be challenged daily by working on diverse projects. You will use your experience and innovation to design building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors, such as healthcare, academic, industrial, and commercial projects.In this role, you will:Design electrical systems including lighting, power, and life safety) for new facilities and facility modernization projectsDevelop calculations for lighting systems and associated controlsLead project teams and serve as the primary contact for the discipline with clientsPerform QA/QC of design work and prepare detailed design documentsOversee and provide guidance to junior engineersCoordinate work with other disciplinesAssist in the procurement of new work; including the development of client relations and participation in project interviewsRequired:You have 8-12 years design experienceYou have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineeringYou are a registered PE in Maryland, DC and/or VirginiaDesired:LEED certification/experience is a plusYou have experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferredProficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS OfficeFamiliarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines, including proficiency with the National Electrical CodeExcellent work ethic and attitudeGood communication and time management skillsInterpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize workAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamAbility to provide technical mentorship to engineers with less experienceAbility to solve problems in an effective and timely mannerLocation: Bethesda, MDTravel: 10% (local job sites)Compensation: $160,000 - $190,000About Us: Founded in 1975, Salas O'Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on achieving impact for our clients, our team, and the world.
