Senior Electrical DesignerIMEG is hiring a Senior Electrical Designer in Cincinnati, OH, to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead designer for moderate to complex building projects. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and implementation oversight for electrical systems in buildings while helping ensure positive client outcomes. You'll also support project budgets, mentor team members, and collaborate across disciplines to meet project goals and client expectations.Principal ResponsibilitiesLead and manage electrical design projects of varying size and complexitySupport scope development, fee calculations, proposal generation, and contract review with Project Executives and Client ExecutivesDevelop project schedules with clear milestones and deadlinesServe as the primary point of contact for project teams and clientsPrepare monthly billings and submit financial information to Accounting on time while updating billing projections and percent completeEnsure designs meet owner requirements, IMEG standards, and applicable codes while achieving milestone deliverables and quality control requirementsCoordinate design staff and project schedules through all phases of design and constructionLead progress meetings and provide project documentationConduct construction site visits and provide documentation as neededResolve client and construction concerns, manage change orders, and secure appropriate approvalsTrain, mentor, and motivate staff while building and maintaining client relationshipsRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry ORAssociates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred11 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industryAdept in the technical aspects of one's discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systemsKnowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam RevuAbility to mentor, train, motivate, and lead othersAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseAbility to sell work and develop client relationshipsStrong training and mentoring skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.Why Join UsIMEG puts people first—with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
