We are partnered with a highly respected MEP consulting engineering firm based in New York City that delivers innovative, technically advanced, and sustainable electrical design solutions across a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, infrastructure, and high-performance building projects.
With a strong reputation for engineering excellence, collaborative project delivery, and long-standing client relationships, the firm is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing NYC team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who is looking to take greater ownership of complex projects, lead technical delivery, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in the continued growth of a successful engineering practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering design for complex building projects from concept through construction administration and commissioning.
- Develop and oversee electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, low-voltage, and life safety systems.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
- Serve as a technical lead on projects, coordinating with architects, clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Review designs for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Support project planning, resource coordination, and delivery within established schedules and budgets.
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, construction observations, and provide technical support throughout project execution.
- Assist with client communication and contribute to maintaining strong project relationships.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 8+ years of U.S.-based experience in electrical consulting engineering, MEP design, or building services engineering.
- Strong experience delivering electrical designs for commercial, institutional, or complex building projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NYC electrical codes, and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Proven ability to independently manage projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development.
