Who are we hiring?
TheSeniorDirectorTeamSecurity forThe NewYorkKnicks will be accountable for developing and implementingproactive/preventative security measures and programsfor theprotection ofMSG’s team personnel,playersand family membersboth domestically and on a global basis as needed.This position willalsosupportMSG’sbusiness continuityand crisis managementefforts.This position willbe responsible forthe execution of player-specific needsand appearances,in accordance withexisting team and Madison Square Garden policies, guidelines and initiatives.
What will you do?
- Develop andmaintainabest-in-classsecurity program for the NY Knicks, ensuring team personnel and players arealways protected.
- In partnership with MSG’s Intelligence and Investigation team, conduct investigations involving game incidentsthat involveplayers,staffand others as necessary and directed.
- Travel with team throughout the course of the season (preseason, regularseasonand playoffs) and provide personal player security (ingress, egress, post-game, etc.) for all games at MSGand road games, working intandemwithteam security and other related MSG personnel.
- Participate in the security planning and on-site management of security at selectedspecial eventsincluding the NBA, All-Star Games, Global Games, Drafts, Playoffs, and otherspecial events.
- Coordinate, prepare anddisseminateall relative informationregardingplayer security to appropriate team personnel/ executivesandappropriate in-housestaff (MSG/Command Center, etc.).
- Interact and coordinate efforts with all necessary team personnel and MSG staff on game nights.
- Provide personal security for family members as directed.
- Ensurethehighest level of guestexperience, while providing a secure environment, inallareaswhere thepotential public/player interactionmay exist.
- Responsible for communicating all relative informationregardingplayer security to teamexecutivesand MSG staff on game nights – including those postsnearthe team locker rooms and relatedadditionalareas restricted to non-club personnel.
- Confer and provide informationregardingoperational and investigative situations when necessary.
- Will work closely with the Director of Event Operations, Director of Building Security, Director of MSG Intelligenceand the Director of Investigations to coordinate player activities when applicable.
- Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
What do you need to succeed?
- 12+ years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- The ideal candidate will have10+years of security operations and management experience with a knowledge of events and/or sports operations.
- Ability to develop and execute company and departmental standard operating procedures (SOP’s)and effectively articulate and manage security budgetary initiatives.
- Strong background and experienceinemergency planning/business continuity.
- The abilityto effectively provide close supervision,guidance,and structure to staffasneeded.
- Proven ability to assess, develop and successfully execute strategic internal and external security plans and quickly adapt to change as required by events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication;organizational and time management skillsarerequired.
- Must have the ability to work independently and use sound business judgment whiledisplayingtact,diplomacyand a commitment to company values.
- Adept atmaintaininga positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group of people.
- Highly responsive to emergencies.
- Experience working with law enforcement and coordinating security and safety needs for clients.
- Specialized training in safety and security for high profile clients.
- Demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions without detailed instruction
Special Requirements:
- Position requires substantial travel year-round.Candidateswill be expected to be able to travel often and endurelong periodsof standing and sitting with little to no notice.
- Work hours are often fluid and not considered “normal’ work hours while traveling during the season.
- Candidatesare required tobe extremely flexible as travel plans are susceptible to delays and changes to accommodate team needs.

Pay Range
$134,000—$260,000 USD
