Senior Director of Engineering, Copilots for Compute
At NVIDIA, we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in AI. To advance the future of NVIDIA's hardware and software, we are seeking a Senior Director to establish and lead a world‑class organization for our new Copilots for Compute (C4C) initiative. In this role, you will build and guide multiple teams to invent, prototype, and deploy innovative, next‑generation AI copilots that advance our state‑of‑the‑art computing technologies, including both hardware and software. You will develop AI copilots capable of performing a wide array of tasks, such as generating actionable insights through automatic analysis of compute‑intensive workloads and data, automating the porting and optimization of kernels, streamlining AI infrastructures at the largest scale, and accelerating the design cycle of next‑generation chips with AI. Your work will be instrumental in shaping our flagship GPU and software roadmaps, significantly enhancing productivity for NVIDIA employees and our customers, and furthering our mission to realize the potential and future of AI.
What You'll Be Doing
- Define and evangelize mission goals that push the limits of what is possible using AI assistants (i.e., Copilots) for Compute optimization and infrastructure.
- Grow and lead a world‑class team in deep learning, including hiring of top industry and R&D leaders, and recruiting top talents in AI, systems, software, and architecture.
- Develop and train the most powerful co‑pilots in the industry, applying them to critically important Compute hardware, software, and infrastructure at NVIDIA.
- Define and execute on ambitious milestones toward transformative company‑scale deliverables and impact.
What We Need to See
- A MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Math or a related field, or additional equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated track record as technical and entrepreneurial leader.
- Strong foundation in deep learning, with emphasis on LLMs and reinforcement learning.
- Highly experienced in high‑performance computing, computer architecture, systems, and software.
- 18+ years of software development experience with at least 5+ years of management experience. Exceptional leadership skills, including ability to manage and lead cross‑functional teams.
Ways to Stand Out From the Crowd
- Delivered significant contributions to the field, particularly in the domain of developing AI assistants for systems, software, and hardware.
- Experience with using/deploying the latest GenAI/LLM techniques.
The base salary range is 360,000 USD - 546,250 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
