Responsible for leading and optimizing all transportation, logistics, scheduling, and distribution activities across multiple manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.
Provides strategic leadership to a team of three Regional Logistics Managers.
Accountable for delivering best‑in‑class performance in cost, service, safety, and shipment execution.
Works closely with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer commitments are achieved.
Drives continuous improvement initiatives, network optimization, carrier strategy, and operational excellence across the organization.
Creates and maintains departmental reporting including freight budgets, monthly and quarterly KPIs, carrier performance scorecards, and ad hoc reporting/analysis.
Develops reports for other Logistics Managers to facilitate constant access to freight costs and KPIs.
Coordinates with Logistics Managers and Director to ensure all carrier strategies are executed at the Logistics Dispatcher level.
Ensures carrier compliance with all customer service requirements and standardizes all internal operating procedures.
Leads all new acquisition integration for Logistics, including carrier integration to Zekelman standards, contracts, rate negotiations, and training for all systems.
Travels within the US and Canada as required.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma from an accredited post‑secondary school.
Previous experience in Logistics preferred.
Previous work with a large flatbed shipper preferred.
Very detail‑oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and multitasking capabilities.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced and highly stressful environment at times.
Previous experience with a Transportation Management System is a bonus.
Ability to work within a team and with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel when required for training purposes.
Certifications & Qualifications
