- Serve as the primary E&PS Project Delivery partner for the assigned business organization
- Translate business strategies, operational needs, and facility requirements into executable capital investment programs
- Lead a portfolio of complex capital projects from concept through operational handover
- Oversee feasibility, front-end planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, qualification, startup, and turnover
- Ensure projects meet safety, quality, compliance, cost, schedule, and business objectives
- Lead execution in active operating environments while minimizing disruption
- Direct Architecture & Engineering firms, Construction Managers, General Contractors, EPC firms, commissioning partners, consultants, and other external providers
- Drive project governance, risk management, decision-making, standardized delivery processes, and best practices
- Lead portfolio planning, investment prioritization, capital allocation, project roadmaps, and long-range capital strategies
- Identify project interdependencies, portfolio risks, resource constraints, and execution challenges
- Use portfolio metrics and project performance data to support decision-making
- Collaborate with Engineering & Design, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Manufacturing Operations, Global Engineering and Technical Operations, R&D, Procurement, Quality & Compliance, and Finance
- Incorporate maintainability, reliability, sustainability, operational readiness, workplace experience, and lifecycle considerations into project solutions
- Facilitate transitions from project execution to operations and facility management teams
- Lead and develop a diverse organization of project management professionals
- Foster accountability, customer focus, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement
- Build organizational capability, mentor future leaders, and support succession planning and talent development
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related technical discipline
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in capital project delivery, engineering, construction management, or program leadership
- Experience managing complex capital projects, programs, or portfolios in regulated industries
- Extensive experience managing project scope, cost, schedule, risk, quality, and stakeholder expectations
- Experience managing Architecture & Engineering firms, Construction Managers, General Contractors, EPC firms, commissioning providers, and other external delivery partners
- Strong understanding of project delivery processes, project controls, governance, and risk management
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex matrix organizations
- Strong communication, influencing, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Preferred: experience with front-end planning, front-end loading, project definition, alternatives analysis, business case development, and capital planning
- Preferred: experience managing project portfolios and capital investments
- Preferred: experience in Advanced Therapies, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Biologics, R&D, Laboratories, Technical Operations, or regulated heavy industries
- Preferred: experience developing site master plans, facility strategies, or long-range capital investment plans
- Preferred: PMP, FPX, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent professional certification
- Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization
