Our client, a leading public sector organization, is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Programmer .

Title: Senior DevOps Programmer

Location: Hybrid in Downey, CA

Duration: 12 months

Pay Range: $45-50/hr. on W2

Start Date: 09/28/2026

End Date: 09/27/2027

Contract Type: W2 Contract

Job Description:

  • Lead and support complex application design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and production support.
  • Analyze requirements and develop scalable, reusable application and systems components.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and ArgoCD.
  • Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
  • Support enterprise applications, ERP systems, databases, middleware, batch processing, and integrations.
  • Support CGI Advantage 3.11 and 4.x on Oracle databases.
  • Support IBM WebSphere/InfoSphere, including installation, patching, and SSL certificate renewal.
  • Work with Rancher, Kubernetes, containers, and Control-M or similar scheduling tools.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot applications and infrastructure using tools such as Splunk.
  • Maintain technical documentation and follow formal change control processes.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, business, and operations teams.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong application development, systems engineering, and DevOps knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Python, Shell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • Hands‑on experience with Jenkins, GitHub, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, and Rancher.
  • Strong Linux/Unix and Windows administration skills.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle databases and enterprise middleware.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automation, batch processing, and application integrations.
  • Familiarity with SFTP tools such as FileZilla or WinSCP.
  • Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Cherwell, Microsoft Office, and Splunk.
  • Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in systems study, design, and programming.
  • 4+ years of experience in a lead capacity.
  • 4+ years within the past 5 years working with CI/CD pipelines, scripting, and DevOps toolchains.
  • 3+ years within the past 5 years working with Rancher, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
  • 2+ years within the past 3 years supporting CGI Advantage 3.11/4.x on Oracle databases and WebSphere/InfoSphere.
  • 1+ year within the past 3 years as a Linux/Unix Systems Administrator.
  • Experience working within formal change control and production support environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Additional qualifying experience may substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis.

Additional Information:

  • Background check required.
  • This is a senior-level role combining application development, DevOps, systems administration, and enterprise production support.
  • Strong experience with CGI Advantage, Oracle, WebSphere/InfoSphere, Kubernetes, Rancher, Jenkins, GitHub, and ArgoCD is strongly preferred.
