Senior Developer PositionA Senior Developer is required to work on behalf of the Department of Revenue (DOR) to perform activities during the DOR interface development portion of the project. The Senior Developer will be an expert in software development methodologies and skilled in several programming languages capable of designing, building, and testing the DOR DTAX Warehouse interface. The candidate selected for this position will serve in the capacity of Senior Developer, for 40 hours a week, to perform development within the DORs Data Warehouse and Enterprise Service Bus development.Major roles and responsibilities for this position include:Develop and support data warehouse applications through Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and Java routinesDevelop system/process documentation supporting knowledge transfer of all development to DOR StaffDevelop Web Services, WSDL and XMLDefine and implement new data attributes and dimensionsDevise and conduct unit testsCoordinate and support acceptance testing by the appropriate end user personnelSupport QA initiatives through database analysis and scriptingDevelop queries and scripts to support warehouse data mining operationsRequired qualifications:Strong communications skills to support daily interactions with business users and other applications staffProficiency in Java, SQL+ and Oracle PL/SQL programming is requiredExperience working in XSLT and XML related technologyExperience with Web Services Development frameworksStrong knowledge of relational database design and database operations is requiredExperience working in an Oracle 9i/10g/11g database environment is requiredExperience working with OLAP multidimensional database structures is a plusExperience working with business intelligence software such as Cognos or Business Objects is a plusKnowledge of ETL and Replication tools is a plusAdditional responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:Serve as the liaison between the PROJECT Team and DOR staff on all activities related to the design, development and testing of the DOR interface.Serve as the project expert and go-to person for all questions and details related to how the DOR interface will work and interface with PROJECT interfaces.Review work plans and approaches for designing, developing, and testing the interface.Understand all possible inputs to and all potential outputs from the PROJECT system.Attend weekly meetings of the PROJECT Interfaces Team and report development status, issues and risk to the PROJECT Interfaces Team and the DOR Manager.
