Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced mechanical components and brazed assemblies for aerospace and defense applications. This role focuses on concept development, detailed design, and lifecycle support—particularly in precision-machined parts and engineered high-temperature brazed joints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical design of machined components and brazed assemblies using Creo CAD software.
• Develop robust, lightweight, and thermally efficient designs that meet stringent aerospace and defense requirements.
• Design high-temperature vacuum brazed joints, ensuring correct geometry, clearances, and material compatibility.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and materials teams to ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturable.
• Perform DFM/DFA optimization , FEA simulations, tolerance stack-ups, and thermal/structural/vibration analysis.
• Generate and maintain engineering documentation: drawings, BOMs, specifications, and test plans.
• Participate in design reviews, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across teams.
• Interface with customers and suppliers to communicate technical requirements and design intent.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards including AS9100 , ITAR , and aerospace specifications.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related Engineering field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the aerospace or defense sectors.
• Proven expertise in designing high-temperature vacuum brazed joints and precision-machined components with tight tolerances.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T , CNC machining (milling, turning, grinding), and FAI protocols.
• Proficient in Creo and FEA software; experience with Esprit CAM a plus.
• Experience with vacuum or dip brazing process design is required .
• Familiarity with heat transfer and thermal stress analysis in high-temperature environments.
• Background working with DoD primes (e.g., Lockheed Martin, Raytheon) or defense contracting.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated success working on cross-functional engineering teams.
