MAU is hiring a Senior Design Engineer for our client in Conway, SC. As a Senior Design Engineer , you will design and develop new mechanical products and equipment while leading engineering projects, validating designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and operational improvements. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design/development engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of management and leadership experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products

Essential Functions

  • Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products and equipment.
  • Develop testing processes to validate new product and equipment designs.
  • Perform testing and validation of new designs.
  • Generate working prototypes and 3D models for beta testing and stakeholder demonstrations.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support mechanical design work.
  • Create technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Review technical drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage and maintain technical document management systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to support engineering projects.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation to track design progress and development.
  • Execute engineering projects using a hands‑on approach.
  • Develop a mutual understanding of active projects with product, process, and equipment engineering teams during the first three months and assist in reprioritizing project work.
  • Execute prioritized engineering projects while demonstrating measurable improvements in cost, quality, productivity, and revenue.
