Senior Data Warehousing ProgrammerPlanIT Group is seeking a Senior Data Warehousing Programmer to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will focus on development and maintenance of applications providing ETL services in support of the customer Data Asset Services team. All work and duties are focused on development and maintenance of applications providing ETL services in support of the customer Data Asset Services team.
The tasks to be performed under the scope of this statement of work must be completed under the direction, oversight, and prioritization of the Data Technology Services Manager and/or designated Program Managers.The following describes the abilities, job categories, and tasks the resources are expected to perform:Ab Initio ETL Coding in GDEAb Initio Metadata Hub LineageAb Initio TRMCANSI SQL and Teradata SQL extensionsTeradata SQL Assistant (a.k.a. QueryMan) for EDS SupportTeradata Utilities for EDS Support:BTEQFastLoadMultiLoadFastExportTPumpUNIX commands and concepts in order to navigate source code directories, find error logs, perform impact analysis assessments, edit code, version filesLinux Shell scripting in order to read and create driver scriptsA working knowledge of how Ab Initio conducts data extract, transformations, and loading – especially to and from TeradataDevelopment of graphs, plans, PSETs and how to develop tests and debugPDL scriptingA working knowledge of how MicroStrategy and other OLAP tools interact with TeradataA working knowledge of the major competing Data Warehouse modeling techniques (Third-Normal-Form and Dimensional modeling) and how data modeling decisions affect the performance of ETL, structured report queried, and unstructured data analysisA working knowledge of Web API developmentA working knowledge of storing, reading and analyzing streaming data – i.e., kafka, mqseries, or similar technologies, such as JMSA working knowledge of Cloud technology - developing and architectingA working knowledge of BI metrics and/or dashboards design and performance tuningAdditional Required Skills/Experience:A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in software developmentA degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferredAble to perform all functional duties independentlyExperience training/mentoring less experienced personnelExperience authoring or contributing to software-related documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, technical manuals, and user manualsExcellent communication skillsAdditional Provisions:Must be able to obtain a Public Trust ClearancePass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit checkAll candidates must be a US Citizen or US Permanent ResidentCandidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 yearsCannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years.
