About the role
G3 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop and deploy mission-ready solutions that enable advanced querying, visualization, aggregation, correlation, and analysis of large-scale data across intelligence disciplines. This role requires deep expertise in Python-based development, data engineering, and geospatial analytics to operationalize data from diverse sources, including web APIs and enterprise repositories. The ideal candidate will design scalable analytic workflows, build interactive dashboards, and create custom tools that enhance decision advantage across complex GEOINT and multi-intelligence environments. This position operates at a senior level with significant autonomy and requires both technical excellence and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement methods for querying, visualizing, aggregating, correlating, and analyzing large datasets across intelligence disciplines
Design and deploy Python-based solutions to retrieve, normalize, and operationalize data from web APIs and other data sources
Build interactive dashboards and analytic interfaces using tools such as Dash, Streamlit, Panel, Tableau, or similar platforms
Develop advanced data visualizations using libraries such as Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, Bokeh, or equivalent
Optimize existing databases to improve performance across query, ingestion, export, and visualization processes
Integrate and manage data across relational and non-relational databases using strong SQL expertise
Develop custom tools, scripts, and workflows to automate analytic processes and support mission needs
Collaborate with AOS and AOB teams to identify, expose, and migrate new and legacy datasets
Perform geospatial data processing and analysis using GDAL, ArcPy, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or similar tools
Maintain, manipulate, and move data across platforms including SQL databases, ArcServer, Tableau, and other analytic environments
Utilize statistical modeling and mathematical techniques to extract patterns, relationships, and predictive insights from large datasets
Develop tradecraft methodologies and training solutions to ensure repeatable, scalable analytic processes
Use Git-based version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab to manage and maintain codebases
Produce clear, concise technical documentation for software systems, analytic workflows, and data processes
Operate independently at a senior level, delivering high-quality solutions with limited oversight
Required qualifications
Active TS/SCI security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field required; Master's degree preferred
5+ years of experience in data science, data analysis, or related field within intelligence or defense environments
Senior-level proficiency in Python with experience developing mission-ready analytic solutions
Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of relational database concepts
Experience integrating and operationalizing data via web APIs
Experience with data visualization libraries such as Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, or Bokeh
Experience building dashboards and analytic applications using Dash, Streamlit, Tableau, or similar tools
Proficiency with geospatial frameworks such as GDAL or ArcPy and GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS
Experience with Git-based version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a senior-level role
Preferred qualifications
Experience supporting intelligence community or DoD missions, particularly within GEOINT environments
Familiarity with USSOCOM and broader U.S. military organizational structures
Knowledge of IC data repositories, data sources, and analytic methodologies
Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in operational environments
Experience working with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases
Familiarity with NGA mission sets, data standards, and workflows
Experience mentoring junior analysts and contributing to team development
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across cross-functional teams
