Senior Data Scientist

***CAN BE HYBRID IN NYC, DC, OR CHICAGO***

Our client is looking for a senior, hands-on Data Scientist who can take projects from the initial business problem all the way through completion. There are already several projects ready to go. They need someone who can pick these up, determine the right analytical approach, do the technical work, manage stakeholders/dependencies, and ultimately deliver something useful to the business.

A lot of the work will be operational and multivariate , helping the client advance existing reporting into more predictive capabilities and answer increasingly complex business questions.

The project-management piece is important. This isn't a PM role — they want a Data Scientist who can independently own and lead their projects end-to-end rather than just being handed a predefined modeling task.

MUST HAVES

• Strong Python
• Strong SQL
• Predictive modeling
• Algorithm development
• Experience with machine-learning techniques
• Multivariate / statistical analysis
• Strong end-to-end project ownership
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders
• Comfortable with messy, real-world data

IDEAL PROFILE

They want someone who has had to wear multiple hats and genuinely own their work rather than operating within a huge, highly siloed Data Science organization. The ideal person can take an ambiguous business problem, figure out how Data Science can solve it, build the model/analysis themselves, work with engineering where needed, and lead the project through to completion.

The key is Data Science depth + project ownership — not just someone who has Python, SQL and ML listed on a resume
