Primary Location : Chicago, IL V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Senior Data Center Engineer for our premier client in Chicago, IL. Education and Experience:
  • 4-year college degree in a related field and/or relevant professional experience
  • 7 years of managing experience leading IT engineering teams and environment
  • 10 years of Technical Operations, Engineering & Implementation, and Security Engineering experience
  • Experience with designing an ITSM system to manage incidents, problems, workflows and to collect metrics required for reporting, preferably on ServiceNow
  • Experience managing support/maintenance agreements and outside service providers
  • Experience working with a Security Operations Center
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Considerable knowledge of systems operations and maintenance, including a good understanding of protocols and tools necessary for effective resolution of maintenance requests and tracking operational processes supporting Dell Compute, SAN, and NAS Technologies and Oracle, Windows, RedHat, Rubrik, Infoblox, and SolarWinds product lines.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL concepts. ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, leadership ability, and teamwork
  • Strong client-focus skills with ability to recognize client requirements, assist client in achieving their goals, manage client expectations and consistently achieve high client satisfaction
  • Strong organizational and management skills; ability to efficiently manage a variety of multiple concurrent projects simultaneously
Knowledge of Cybersecurity operations and best practices Engineering & Implementation
  • Design and implement security, and cloud connectivity solutions.
  • Lead technical deployments, migrations, upgrades, and integration projects.
  • Develop and maintain capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization strategies.
Technical Operations
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of critical incidents.
  • Provide hands-on support during major outages, cybersecurity incidents, and high-priority operational events.
WHAT YOU’LL DO: Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage all devices in accordance with the client's policies (including security oversight and change management policies)
  • Document and maintain configuration files, IP addressing schemes, configurations, etc. and maintain the CMDB
  • Ensure administration activities adhere to defined Change Management processes
  • Limit outages and optimize utilization through proactive analysis of network data and reporting
  • Respond to alerts
