About the Role
G2 Ops supports mission‑critical defense and technology initiatives by solving complex operational and engineering challenges. We are seeking a highly qualified, collaborative Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support mission‑critical communications systems and contribute directly to national security.
In this role, you’ll provide strategic cybersecurity support to senior program and cybersecurity stakeholders within NAVWAR 5.0 and PMW 770 while helping strengthen the cybersecurity posture of mission‑critical communications systems. You will serve as a technical lead for initiatives that improve cyber strategy, techniques, and processes, and you will lead a team executing the DoD Risk Management Framework process.
What You’ll Do
- Lead cybersecurity engineering support for mission‑critical communications systems, including cyber risk visibility, mitigation planning, and mission assurance.
- Assess cybersecurity posture, vulnerabilities, and operational risks; recommend and support remediation strategies.
- Guide cybersecurity professionals supporting DoD RMF, Assessment and Authorization, and compliance activities.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, validation, accreditation, and risk management artifacts for IT and OT systems.
- Ensure appropriate security controls protect systems, networks, digital files, and electronic infrastructure.
- Advise customer, program, and cybersecurity stakeholders on cyber policy, RMF execution, risks, impacts, and mitigation options.
- Translate complex cybersecurity findings into clear recommendations, leadership briefings, and decision‑support products.
- Partner with government stakeholders, engineering teams, system owners, and cyber team members to strengthen cyber strategy and execution.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of professional cybersecurity engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics with a computer science concentration, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity policy, DoD RMF, Assessment and Authorization, compliance, and risk management activities.
- Experience assessing vulnerabilities, evaluating risk, and developing remediation or mitigation strategies for mission‑critical systems.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity, information assurance, and security control activities for IT and/or OT systems.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating technical teams.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to brief cyber risks and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate across program management, cybersecurity, systems engineering, customer, and cross‑functional teams.
- IAM Level II, IAT Level II, or IASAE Level II certification in accordance with DoD .
- The ideal candidate already possesses an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Navy, DoD, NAVWAR, PEO C4I, or similar mission‑focused government programs.
- Experience advising leadership on cybersecurity strategy, cyber risk posture, RMF execution, or mitigation planning.
- Familiarity with Navy communications systems, system‑of‑systems environments, platform integration, mission assurance, or OT cybersecurity.
- Experience leading cybersecurity improvement initiatives across strategy, process, governance, tools, or technical execution.
- Experience developing executive‑level briefings, risk summaries, accreditation artifacts, or technical decision‑support products.
- Relevant advanced cybersecurity certifications or specialized training.

- This is a full‑time position supporting mission‑focused customer environments.
- Outside employment or activities must not create conflicts of interest with company or customer responsibilities.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $150,000 – $200,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Work Environment
