Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Salary: $150,000 - 195,000 per year

• Bachelors degree in IT, cybersecurity, or a related field; computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physics preferred.
• At least 8 years of cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Active CISSP certification required; CISSP-IASAE preferred.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required.
• Expertise in routing, switching, firewalls/IPS, antivirus, host protections, and incident management.
• Strong knowledge of communication protocols, the ISO/OSI model, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with NIST security controls, RMF, DoD/DLA cybersecurity policies, eMASS, and STIG compliance.
• Active DoD clearance at the IT-I Critical Sensitive level or higher.
• Must work on-site at our Coggins HQ in Alexandria, Virginia, and be able to commute or relocate there before starting.

• Manage day-to-day cybersecurity operations, including administrative functions, risk assessment, identifying unstated assumptions, and aligning procedures with NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 Control Families.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security architectures, policies, and procedures.
• Define, implement, and enforce enterprise cybersecurity standards and policies.
• Coordinate, develop, and evaluate organizational security programs and recommend improvements.
• Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments throughout system lifecycles, documenting findings and remediation.
• Analyze and design security features for enterprise, embedded, and special-purpose systems; identify, report, and resolve security violations.
• Engineer solutions that meet evolving cybersecurity requirements and provide integration and engineering support for information assurance components, network models, and security upgrades.
• Conduct security testing, system hardening, and control validation to support Defense-in-Depth, DODIN Joint Information Environment, and RMF compliance.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders on technical reviews, design decisions, and policy development.
