Responsibilities
- Supervisory responsibility for the Real Assets team including recruitment, training and day-to-day management of team members.
- Ensure that credit risks originated and managed by the Real Assets team are properly assessed, measured and managed at origination and as part of an on‑going monitoring framework.
- Contribute to the definition of the Bank’s credit policy guidelines and overall risk appetite.
- Identifying and understanding emerging risks in partnership with the business to ensure that these risks are well understood and adequately mitigated.
- Remain aware of the regulatory environment, its developments and application with ongoing contribution to related regional governance including policies and procedures. Ensure that the team understands and complies with applicable policies and procedures.
- Participate in various projects to enhance governance and comply with evolving regulatory requirements.
- Participation in New Product Committees to understand new business initiatives to ensure all relevant credit risks have been identified and that the related necessary governance is in place.
- Foster a strong partnership with the business.
Qualifications
- 15+ years with management experience within the Real Asset Scope (project finance and asset‑based finance)
- 8+ years of managerial experience of 4+ people
- Broad knowledge of risks impacting the Energy, Infrastructure – including data centers, Trade Commodity Finance and Real Estate sectors with a specific expertise in credit risk as it relates to these sectors
- Current knowledge of US markets and regulatory practices
- Strong analytical and credit judgment skills with a proven ability to understand complex transactions / processes
- Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and capacity to work autonomously
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously
- Strong collaboration skills both across the RISQ division and with other partners such as business lines, legal and compliance teams
- Results focused, responsive, with strong strategic capabilities in terms of decision making and risk assessment
- Good English language writing skills, working knowledge of French is a plus
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Effective management of priorities
