Senior Court Operations Clerk
Senior Court Operations Clerk – full-time position with a pay rate ranging from $18.34 to $21.55 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Prepares clerk's record and monitors its due dates for filing in the 4th Court of Appeals.
- Verifies data integrity across systems.
- Prepares and monitors transfer of venue files.
- Processes and monitors incoming electronic filings.
- Performs cashiering responsibilities.
- Builds and prepares service of case documents, subpoenas, citations, and writs.
- Scans legal documents and maintains originals.
- Assists and acts as a backup to Court Clerks.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Acts in the name of the County Clerk and shall perform all official acts as may be lawfully done and performed by such Clerk in person, pursuant to Section82.005(c) of the Texas Local Government Code.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or General Education Development (GED) certificate and three (3) years of general office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and basic office procedures.
- Typing skill of 40 words per minute with no more than 7 errors; a recent typing test administered by the employer is required.
- Skill in basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to understand and apply appropriate statutes and codes; accurately collect cash; accurately enter data; deal with hostile or irrational individuals; understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to operate a personal computer, 10‑key adding machine, typewriter, and basic office equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, other County employees, attorneys, outside organizations, and the general public.
- Must clear a pre‑employment physical examination.
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background check.
- Must be bondable.
- Must have legible penmanship.
- May be required to work more than forty (40) hours during the workweek.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
- Constantly working in indoor conditions.
- Occasionally moves items weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
- Occasionally moves about the office.
- Frequently communicates with others and must exchange accurate information.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Positions self to perform essential functions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
