Senior Counsel

Overview

Join Tyson & Mendes, a national litigation firm focused on insurance defense and trial advocacy. We seek accomplished senior attorneys with courtroom confidence, leadership, and a strategic mindset to contribute to our growth in the defense of high-stakes matters. An active Texas bar license is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop a compelling case theme and lead high-exposure matters through court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
• Independently manage court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
• Collaborate with a team across experience levels and provide leadership to less experienced attorneys
• Maintain routine client communications and cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active license to practice in your state (Texas preferred if applicable)
• 8+ years of solid litigation experience, including discovery and trial preparation
• Ability to manage full case responsibilities with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with time management systems and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills; professional demeanor

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary range: $150,000 – $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience
