A growing and highly successful Central Texas-based company is seeking an experienced attorney to join its legal team as Senior Corporate Counsel. This is a broad-based in-house role focused on real estate matters and commercial transactions.
The ideal candidate will have in-house experience partnering with business leaders, providing practical legal advice, and balancing legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced environment, as well as experience in private practice. Real estate experience of some type is a required.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, commercial leases, easements, and construction-related agreements
- Partner with internal stakeholders and outside counsel on complex legal matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including sales, leasing, vendor, service, and technology contracts
- Advise business leaders on contract strategy, risk assessment, and negotiations
- Assist with corporate governance, entity management, and legal process improvements
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission
- 7+ years of legal experience, preferably with some in-house experience
- Significant experience with real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leases, easements, etc.
- Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Strong background in corporate and transactional matters
