Central Texas Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel with deep healthcare regulatory and health tech transactional experience to serve as a primary legal advisor to a growing roster of health tech clients. This role is designed for an attorney with substantial expertise in HIPAA, healthcare compliance, FDA and digital health regulatory frameworks, and healthcare-specific commercial transactions.
The position offers the opportunity to work directly with health tech founders and companies while helping build a specialized healthcare practice within an AI-native law firm. You'll also play a key role developing healthcare contract templates, precedent libraries, training materials, and practical legal resources.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as trusted legal advisor to health tech clients
Advise clients on HIPAA, healthcare compliance, and regulatory matters
Draft, review, and negotiate BAAs and healthcare-specific agreements
Handle vendor, data-sharing, and health data agreements
Provide practical guidance regarding FDA and digital health regulations
Build healthcare contract templates and precedent libraries
Develop training materials for attorneys across the firm
Lead training sessions on healthcare regulatory issues
Contribute practical healthcare guidance to internal knowledge systems
Help build the firm's health tech practice
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
JD from an accredited law school
Active U.S. bar membership in good standing
8+ years of focused healthcare regulatory and health tech transactional experience
Deep healthcare / health tech legal practice required
Hands-on BAA drafting and negotiation experience required
Top-tier healthcare / life sciences firm experience preferred
Health tech in-house or regulatory agency experience is a plus
Technical Skills & Competencies:
Expert-level HIPAA knowledge
Expert-level FDA regulatory knowledge
Strong understanding of digital health regulatory frameworks
Healthcare contract drafting and negotiation
Current practical use of AI tools in legal practice
Comfortable working within AI-native legal workflows
Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into practical guidance
