Senior Cost Accountant

Senior Cost AccountantBlack Bear Talent is recruiting for a Senior-Level Cost Accountant. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and reconciling inventory and cost standards, including both manufacturing and overhead expenses. This individual will play a key role in monitoring daily financial activity and supporting overall business performance by building and refining systems used to collect, analyze, validate, and report financial data.This position is a direct hire with our client.Key Responsibilities• Support month-end close activities related to cost analysis and reporting, including margin evaluation• Establish and maintain standard costs for materials and labor• Contribute to the development and enhancement of cost accounting systems and processes• Review production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements• Monitor and reconcile inventory balances, ensuring accuracy at month-end• Recommend and implement process improvements and corrective actions as needed• Partner with leadership to support annual audit activities• Help ensure financial reporting goals and deadlines are achieved• Maintain accurate documentation of financial transactions and records• Assist in coordinating and overseeing annual physical inventory processesQualifications• Demonstrated experience in a Cost Accountant or Senior Accountant role• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with experience using ERP systems and databases• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage large data sets• In-depth understanding of cost accounting methodologies and best practices• High level of accuracy and attention to detail• Strong written and verbal communication skillsEducation Requirements• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related fieldPreferred Experience• 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on cost accounting• Background in manufacturing environments, including ERP-based inventory management and valuation• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting• Self-directed with strong organizational and project management capabilitiesWork scheduleDay shiftBenefitsPaid time offHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k) matching
