Senior Cost AccountantWork Model: You'll work in a hybrid model, onsite at your designated Regal Rexnord location at least three days per week (Monday–Thursday), with flexibility to work remotely up to two days, including Friday.Position Overview: The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for leading and supporting plant-level cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, cost analysis, overhead rate development, and audit support. This role provides oversight and guidance to a Junior Cost Accountant and serves as a key financial partner to Operations, Engineering, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams.This position may be filled at a level commensurate with the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.Senior Cost Accounting ResponsibilitiesReview monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations related to inventory and cost accountsPerform excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory reporting and reserve analysisLead physical inventory planning, execution, reconciliation, and follow-up reporting for internal and external auditsDevelop and maintain standard labor, material, fixed, and variable overhead ratesDevelop and maintain DOD, standard labor, and overhead ratesDrive margin improvement and costing initiatives in partnership with Operations and EngineeringPerform inventory capitalization analysisSupport internal and external audit requests and reviewsProvide guidance, oversight, and technical support to the Junior Cost AccountantCost Accounting & Inventory ResponsibilitiesAnalyze bills of materials and routings to prepare new items for cost rollupsPerform cost rollups and activate new items in the ERP systemPrepare weekly and monthly inventory reporting by plant and product lineManage work orders, including weekly and monthly variance analysisAnalyze and reconcile miscellaneous inventory, scrap, and pending inventory transactionsPrepare monthly journal entries and inventory account reconciliationsPlan and lead physical inventories and support the annual standard cost updateAnalyze make-versus-buy decisions and support operational cost optimization initiativesUtilize OneStream and ERP systems to retrieve, analyze, and report financial dataRecommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, controls, and reporting timelinessSupport or lead special projects and cross-functional initiatives as requiredRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and manufacturing accountingExperience developing labor, material, and overhead cost ratesAbility to analyze and explain cost variances and inventory valuation impactsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively with cross-functional manufacturing and finance teamsExperience supporting internal and external auditsBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceYears of experience and level of responsibility will vary depending on the candidate's background, skill set, and demonstrated capabilities.Preferred Skills & Qualifications3–5 years of progressive accounting or cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environmentCPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certificationExperience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and financial reporting tools (e.g., OneStream)Experience leading or mentoring junior accounting staffRestrictionsRestrictions imposed by federal export control laws may limit this job opportunity to candidates who are a 'U.S. Person', which includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, U.S.
