As Senior Corporate Counsel – Employment you will report directly to the General Counsel and serve as the primary legal advisor for our Human Resources organization. Your role will involve providing legal advice and support on employment agreements, benefit plans, vendor relationships, litigation, policy updates, mergers & acquisitions, HR compliance, and other HR‑related areas. You will work independently on complex legal matters, deliver clear and actionable guidance under tight deadlines, interact with executives, vendors, regulators, outside counsel, and conduct training sessions on relevant legal matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and advise on claims and enforcement of employment agreements, restrictive covenants, compensation documents, severance plans, and applicable procedures.
- Assist in periodic review and update of onboarding documents for new employees (offer letters, employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, etc.).
- Review employee benefit plan documents and other benefit contracts as needed.
- Advise HR on matters relating to new hires, transfers, terminations, temporary and contract labor, and background check processes.
- Participate in review and maintenance of the company’s employment policies and related documents.
- Advise on contingent labor and independent contractor programs.
- Provide updates on new laws, pending legislation, and compliance matters as they arise.
- Provide mergers & acquisitions support, including transaction diligence and employee integration.
- Assist in oversight of the HR compliance program.
- Provide litigation support for labor and employment disputes (EEOC complaints, wage and hour disputes, FMLA/ADA matters, wrongful termination).
- Consult with other legal team members on employment, labor, and compliance matters.
- Manage offshore labor and visa matters.
- Conduct training sessions on relevant legal matters and monitor current legal developments.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of applicable experience.
- Juris Doctorate (required).
- Active member of a State Bar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing employment counsel for white‑collar workforces.
- JD with strong academic credentials.

Compensation
Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $164,000 – $305,000. Final salary depends on market factors such as departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location.
