Located: Houston, TX (near the 610 and 69 intersection)
Pay: $150k-$190k base + 15% bonus + strong benefits/PTO + 401k w/ 4% matching
Hybrid, 2-3 days a week on-site to start and will be more remote as you ramp up
We are seeking a Senior Developer / Controls Programmer to develop next-generation automation tools, PLC control algorithms, and edge computing applications. This role partners with product, engineering, and customers to design, build, test, and support industrial automation solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop PLC control logic using Ladder Logic (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Sequential Function Chart (SFC), and/or Structured Text (ST).
- Design automation tools, control algorithms, telemetry applications, and edge computing solutions.
- Create and maintain Lua scripts for automation, communications, and data processing.
- Analyze electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation to develop reliable control systems.
- Design HMI/UI interfaces and create testing and validation plans.
- Support product releases, troubleshoot complex control issues, and assist with technical training.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, maintainable automation solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of industrial automation or controls programming experience.
- Experience with industrial protocols such as Modbus and CAN/J1939.
- Familiarity with JSON, XML, XSLT, and web services is preferred.
- Safety system experience and conversational Spanish are a plus.
