Sr. Contracts ManagerStrategic Communication Systems (SCS) is seeking an experienced Sr. Contracts Manager to support our Strategic Mission Management Program. As a key member of the business team, you'll drive strategic decision-making and offer dynamic recommendations on contractual issues and proposal strategies, all while collaborating closely with leadership across multiple functions.In this critical role, your business acumen and subject matter expertise will be put to use guiding cross-functional teams through program reviews, risk management, and other contract-related matters. You will work with a geographically dispersed team to resolve complex issues, improve acquisition timelines, and ensure the successful execution of contracts that meet both financial and program objectives.What You Will Do:Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and frequently influence business decisionsImplement strategies to improve acquisition timelines and customer pace of contractual actionsInvestigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholdersProvide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changesReview proposals to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, represent a balanced risk/opportunity posture and deliver a financially sound business case while meeting company policies and standardsDevelop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development processWhat YOU Will Learn:Gain advanced expertise in managing large-scale U.S. Government contracts, navigating complex regulations and policies such as the FAR and DFARS, while ensuring compliance across multiple stages of the contract lifecycle, from development through sustainmentEnhance your strategic decision-making abilities by leading cross-functional teams in high-stakes contract negotiations, balancing risk and opportunity to deliver strong, financially sound business casesDevelop cutting-edge contracting techniques by working with diverse stakeholders to solve complex problems, streamline acquisition processes, and improve timelines, all while driving customer satisfactionSharpen your leadership skills by guiding and mentoring a team of professionals, cultivating their growth, and implementing training programs that foster skill development and career advancementDeepen your knowledge of the aerospace and defense industry's evolving needs and how to integrate them into effective contract management strategies that shape the future of technological solutionsQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experienceActive and existing Top Secret Clearance required on Day 1Must have a minimum of 10+ years experience in defense contracting including administration/management of cost-type contracts, fixed-price type contracts, USG DoD contracts for development, transition to production, full rate production, sustainment, and servicesExperience leading and managing a team of professionals, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives; experience implementing training programs that support team growth, skill development, and career advancementDirect knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)Ability to Travel 10-15%Qualifications We Prefer:May have deep knowledge of project managementAdvanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs or systemsWhat We Offer:Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
