Senior Contracts ManagerAptive is currently seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to join our growing team in Alexandria, VA. This role has primary responsibility to manage contracts staff and direct all contracts related activities for Aptive including negotiating terms and conditions for both prime contracts and subcontracts, NDAs, TAs and other contractual documents prior to execution. This role will mentor and train contracts staff and provide advice and counsel to Aptive line of business and executive leadership on contracts matters.In this role, you must deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
You must possess the ability to work well with others in high-stress high-volume situations, effectively interface with internal functional and program organizations, effectively deal with external customers, and meet the goals/objectives of Aptive lines of business.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership in contract management – provides subject matter expertise, leads the team on existing and new contracts, proposal and contract development, and contract complianceWorks with Contracts Manager(s) to ensure templates are developed to ensure consistency and level of standardization for internal contract instrumentsWork independently to complete cradle-to-grave contracts support for assigned contractsManage diverse set of contracts types spanning Fixed Price, Time and Material to cost type contractsEnsure full compliance with contract requirements and continually review contracts for risk or opportunityProvide contractual advice support and counsel to management, sales and business operations personnel for all matters related to assigned contracts/proposalServe as the primary point of contact for contracting officers for assigned contractsSupport proposals as the contracts point of contactReview and negotiate Teaming Agreements and Non-Disclosure AgreementsReview contracts for Organizational Conflicts of Interests (OCI), develop OCI Mitigation Plans as appropriate, and participate in the Corporate OCI Screening processResponsible for providing advice, counsel, and mitigation regarding any OCI matters to program personnel and for dis-positioning potential OCI's with the customerEnsure the contracts system is up-to-date and support general ad hoc reporting and taskingDevelop and maintain relationships with government contracting officers and other key stakeholdersMonitor and ensure compliance with contract deliverables and performance metricsPrepare and submit contract deliverables, reports, and other documentation required by customersNegotiate and resolve contract disputes and claimsMinimum QualificationsRequires 8 years with BS/BA or 5 years with MS/MA5 years experience with Government contractsSome Commercial contract experienceKnowledge/understanding of GSA SchedulesKnowledge/understanding of FAR and DFARExperience managing a team of contracts professionalsIn-depth knowledge of government contracting regulations, policies, and proceduresStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple contracts simultaneouslyProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management softwareDesired QualificationsKnowledge of military and Veteran populationsExperience supporting large, complex federal agencies; ideally VA or DoDExperience with UnanetExperience with Jira Service Desk and/or Jira Work ManagementStrong critical thinking and analytical skillsProven ability to organize, prioritize, and work well with othersAbility to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically both written and orallyAbility to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environmentCapable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detailAbility to interact and engage with Executive-level stakeholdersAbout AptiveAptive is a modern federal consulting firm focused on human experience, digital services, and business transformation.
