Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead account managers in servicing clients within the account team
- Maintain appropriate business contact with clients
- Proactively market and service accounts with multiple lines of coverage
- Utilize the Applied/Epic system and shared drive to maintain client information
- Build relationships with assigned clients and give prompt attention to their requests
- Work directly with producers to discuss clients’ future insurance needs
- Understand clients’ business and risk profiles to prepare insurance specifications
- Communicate clients’ needs to their insurance carriers and identify new trends and developments
- Prepare insurance proposals, outlining significant terms and conditions
- Offer appropriate coverage including policies not currently purchased by the client to eliminate potential uninsured claims
- Check policies against quotes for accuracy and request changes where needed
- Assist in organizing pre‑renewal and renewal meetings, and coordinate claims reviews as needed
- Research available insurance products and policies that may be appropriate for clients, utilizing vendor relationships within the marketplace
- Understand surplus lines and filings
- Assist the accounting department with billing discrepancies, when necessary
- Perform all other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Basic knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance coverage
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to navigate vendor or agency management systems
- Proficiency in Applied/Epic or ability to learn the program
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple client needs and tasks
- Strong organization skills and attention to accuracy and detail
- Local travel required; occasional national travel may be necessary
- Excellent interpersonal skills and pleasant disposition required at all times
- Mergers & Acquisition / Private Equity experience preferred
- Ability to work well in a fast‑paced, team environment
Education and Licensing
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or college degree preferred. Broker’s license is a plus.
Experience
At least 5 years in the P&C field.
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay is based on skills, education, qualifications, and location. Variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus may be available.
