About the role
Ellofant is looking for a Senior Consultant to support a major Business Intelligence initiative with a Fortune 50 financial services provider.
You will work closely with leaders and subject matter experts across finance, operations, risk, compliance, strategy, and other business functions. Your job will be to understand what they need, turn those needs into clear requirements, and help move BI solutions from an idea through implementation.
This role is a good fit for someone who is comfortable asking thoughtful questions, working through ambiguity, and turning complex information into practical solutions. You should be able to work at both the strategic and detailed levels. One day you may be leading a stakeholder workshop, and the next you may be documenting calculations, reviewing a data model, or building an executive presentation.
What you will do
* Lead and support stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and requirements workshops
* Build strong working relationships with business leaders and subject matter experts
* Understand business processes, challenges, reporting needs, decisions, and desired outcomes
* Collect, document, and prioritize BI use cases
* Identify relevant data sources and understand their ownership, availability, definitions, quality, and dependencies
* Translate business needs into detailed business and functional requirements
* Create data models, calculations, business rules, metric definitions, and reporting logic
* Document requirements for the data platform and the BI products that will be built on it
* Lead and support the implementation of business solutions using Alteryx and other BI tools
* Connect stakeholder needs, use cases, data sources, requirements, calculations, and delivered solutions
* Support testing, business validation, issue resolution, and user acceptance
* Use Excel for analysis, calculations, data validation, and rapid prototyping
* Use Visio to create process maps, workflows, data flows, and solution designs
* Create clear and polished PowerPoint presentations for stakeholders and senior leadership
* Turn complex analysis into a simple and persuasive story
* Present recommendations, progress updates, risks, and decisions to leadership
* Support communication, stakeholder alignment, and adoption as new solutions are introduced
What we are looking for
* At least 7 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, analytics strategy, management consulting, business analysis, data transformation, or BI implementation
* Strong management consulting or client-facing experience
* Experience working within financial services and an understanding of its business processes, controls, and data needs
* Hands-on experience designing or implementing solutions in Alteryx
* Experience leading requirements gathering from early discovery through implementation
* Strong understanding of business use cases, data sources, data modeling, calculations, metrics, and reporting requirements
* Ability to turn unclear or incomplete stakeholder requests into detailed and actionable requirements
* Advanced PowerPoint skills with a strong eye for executive storytelling and presentation quality
* Strong Visio skills for documenting processes, workflows, and data flows
* Advanced Excel skills for analysis, modeling, validation, and prototyping
* Excellent communication, facilitation, writing, and presentation skills
* Confidence working with senior stakeholders in a large and complex organization
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Ability to work on-site in Salt Lake City five days a week
