Senior Construction Estimator - Multifamily Construction - Base Salary to 165k/year - Reno, NV

Our client is an established general contractor delivering multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, senior housing, higher education, affordable housing, student housing, hospitality, rehabilitation, and renovation projects. The company focuses on long-term client relationships, repeat business, cost control, schedule adherence, and quality project delivery. The Senior Construction Estimator will prepare detailed estimates for ground-up multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, and other building construction projects. This position is responsible for quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, pricing, bid preparation, subcontractor and supplier solicitation, scope review, value engineering, and budget development. The Senior Estimator will coordinate with project management, preconstruction, estimating, and field teams throughout the estimating process. This is a full-time in-office position in Reno, NV, with occasional project site visits.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed construction estimates for ground-up multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, and other building projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, cost analysis, pricing, and bid preparation
• Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents
• Solicit, review, level, and evaluate subcontractor bids and supplier quotes
• Develop bid proposals, project budgets, and construction cost estimates
• Identify project cost risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options
• Coordinate estimating activities with project managers, preconstruction teams, estimating teams, and field personnel
• Participate in bid reviews and support budget development throughout preconstruction
• Maintain current construction cost data, subcontractor pricing, supplier pricing, and local market pricing information
• Support design-build and negotiated construction projects
• Refine estimating processes, tools, and cost databases
• Mentor junior estimators
• Maintain subcontractor and client relationships throughout the estimating and preconstruction process
• Work in-office with occasional project site visits in Reno, NV

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, including estimating ground-up multifamily or mixed-use construction projects
• Construction estimating experience including quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, pricing, bid preparation, and budget development
• Experience reviewing and interpreting architectural drawings, engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents
• Experience soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids and supplier quotes
• Experience evaluating project pricing, construction cost risks, and value engineering opportunities
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and construction technology tools
• Knowledge of local construction market pricing
• Experience with design-build and negotiated construction work
• Experience mentoring junior estimators

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 150k - 165k/year range
