The Senior Communications Advisor and Speechwriter is responsible for crafting the Mayor’s public remarks, shape messaging across initiatives, ensuring a consistent and compelling voice across all communications and contributing to the Mayor's overall communication strategy. This position reports to the Chief of Staff.

Core Responsibilities
- Draft remarks, speeches, op-eds and talking points for the Mayor across a wide range of issues
- Oversee the Mayor’s annual State of the City speech, including acting as the project manager and lead writer of the speech
- Research policy issues, Mayoral and City initiatives to ensure accuracy and relevance in all remarks
- Work closely with Communications Director and policy staff to translate complex ideas and initiatives into easy to understand, authentic language
- Identify compelling stories that help communicate the Mayor’s priorities and City successes
- Serve as an adviser to the Mayor and senior staff on messaging and strategy
Salary and Benefits
- Salary range of $100,000 - $115,000
