Senior Commissions AccountantLong Beach, CA, US Remote Insurance Vaco $USD 60 - 65 ContractorWe are seeking a highly detail-oriented Interim Senior Commissions Accountant with a healthcare organization. This role will focus on the accurate and timely processing of high-volume broker commissions within a highly regulated Medicare Advantage environment.Responsibilities:Process semi-monthly commission payments for approximately 6,000 internal and external brokers across seven statesCalculate and validate broker commissions in accordance with complex, state-specific Medicare Advantage requirementsAnalyze and manipulate large data sets to ensure commission accuracy and resolve discrepanciesPrepare and record related journal entriesReconcile commission activity and research payment variancesPartner closely with Sales and Accounting to address commission-related questions and issuesSupport implementation and review of 2027 commission ratesMaintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple deadlines and large transaction volumesRequirements:Medicare Advantage experience strongly preferred, particularly exposure to commissions or broker paymentsPrior experience with commissions accounting, incentive compensation, payroll, or high-volume payment processingStrong accounting foundation, including experience preparing journal entriesAdvanced Excel skills, including: Large data-set manipulation and analysisExceptional attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies within high-volume dataExperience working in the health insurance industryAbility to work independently and meet strict semi-monthly processing deadlinesBy submitting to this position, you are agreeing to be included in our talent pool for future hiring for similarly qualified positions.
