Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney

Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney in Troy, Michigan. This full-time, onsite position offers the opportunity to manage sophisticated commercial litigation matters from initial client intake through successful resolution. The ideal candidate will enjoy handling complex business disputes and taking an active role in all phases of litigation, including trial and appellate work.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution, including trial and appeals.
• Review and analyze complex client documentation and develop litigation strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal analyses supporting litigation objectives.
• Draft pleadings, substantive motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Prepare for and participate in arbitrations, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Provide strategic legal guidance and practical business advice to clients.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments and strategy.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan.
• 10 or more years of commercial litigation experience.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload with attention to detail.
• Strong legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Michigan.
