This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in hands-on development, infrastructure automation, and modern AWS-based architectures.You will work onsite in Chantilly, VA alongside a highly technical team delivering secure, resilient, and high-performance solutions in a classified environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain production-grade Python services supporting backend systems and APIsArchitect and deploy AWS-based cloud solutions, leveraging serverless and managed servicesBuild and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform across multiple environmentsDevelop and integrate RESTful APIs and event-driven architecturesImplement cloud-native patterns for scalability, availability, observability, and fault toleranceCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable solutionsSupport CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment workflowsTroubleshoot, optimize, and enhance system performance in Linux-based environmentsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical fieldExpert-level Python experience (this is the core language for the role)Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as:Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDBEventBridge, Step FunctionsIAM, Organizations, CloudWatchStrong Terraform experience managing complex, production AWS infrastructureExperience building and consuming HTTP REST APIsStrong Linux/UNIX experienceExperience with containers and DockerFamiliarity with distributed systems, cloud networking, and security best practicesNice-to-Have SkillsServerless architecture experience at scaleExperience working in classified or regulated environmentsExposure to global scaling, load balancing, and high-availability architecturesCI/CD tooling experience (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD)
