What You Will Do
- Lead a team of engineers responsible for designing, building, and operating secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for ServiceMax commercial and FedRAMP product areas
- Partner with Cyber Security and compliance leaders to implement security standards (including FedRAMP controls) and drive effective incident response
- Continuously improve operational processes, tooling, and on‑call practices to increase team efficiency and sustainability
- Coach and mentor engineers, set clear expectations, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture
- Drive infrastructure‑as‑code standards and self‑service automation (e.g., Terraform/Ansible) to improve consistency, auditability, and delivery speed
- Own capacity planning, performance tuning, and cloud cost optimization (FinOps) for production workloads
- Partner with Engineering to improve deployment and change management practices (CI/CD, release readiness, rollback strategies) to reduce operational risk
- Work cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Support, and Customer Success to prioritize reliability work and align on operational roadmaps
- Evaluate and adopt AI‑assisted operations to improve signal‑to‑noise, accelerate incident triage, and identify recurring issues through intelligent analysis
What You Bring To ServiceMax
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, cloud security, and production operations on AWS
- 7+ years of direct, hands‑on experience operating cloud production environments
- 3+ years of production experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience building cloud automation using Terraform and Ansible
- In‑depth experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting
- Strong understanding of building and operating DevOps pipelines (CI/CD)
- Experience leveraging AI/ML to improve TechOps outcomes (e.g., anomaly detection, alert noise reduction, incident triage, and predictive capacity planning)
- Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability
- Ability to mentor, lead, and inspire others
Must Have Qualification
- US Citizenship
- Ability to commute to San Ramon office 2–3 days a week

Compensation
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $175,000 – $210,000. Compensation may vary based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Candidates may also be eligible for performance‑based bonuses and equity programs.
