BlueFlag is seeking an ambitious, senior-level Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. This opportunity is remote. As a key player in our cloud infrastructure initiatives, you'll have the opportunity to architect, implement, and optimize cloud solutions for large enterprise environments, including a cutting-edge data and analytics platform for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
What You’ll Do
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple providers, with a primary focus on Azure technologies
- Deliver data-lake-based integration and analysis services in support of business intelligence, data science, and machine learning efforts
- Spearhead the implementation of infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, pushing the boundaries of automation and efficiency
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues
- Implement robust security measures to safeguard cloud-based applications and data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of cloud applications
- Lead architecture discussions with clients and team members, articulating complex solutions with clarity and confidence
- Contribute to business development activities by crafting innovative cloud engineering solutions for proposals
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices

Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code concepts
- Extensive knowledge of Azure technologies
- Adherence to general cloud engineering best practices
- Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for process automation
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools, especially CI/CD processes
- Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or related fields
- US Citizen: Must be a citizen of the United States
- Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance. Must be eligible to work in the United States
Desired
- Software engineering experience, especially in web application development
- Strong background in cloud-based networking, security, and data integration
- Knowledge of serverless computing
- Background in healthcare data management or experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Experience with large-scale data analysis systems, such as Databricks, Hadoop, Pig, Scala, Spark or MPP databases
- Experience working with Apache Parquet and/or Delta Lake formatted data
- Experience supporting MLOps pipelines
