Senior Civil Project EngineerA Columbus, Ohio area engineering firm is seeking a Senior Civil Project Engineer to serve as a technical lead and client advocate for high-impact site development projects. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between initial design concepts and final construction completion. You will drive the technical production of grading, utility, and stormwater plans and act as a strategic liaison between the firm and our clients.Key ResponsibilitiesFull-Lifecycle Ownership: Lead civil engineering design and coordination from concept through construction completion.Site Development Oversight: Develop and review comprehensive site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, and complex engineering calculations.Documentation & Estimating: Produce high-quality construction documents, technical specifications, and accurate "probable cost" estimates.Stormwater Excellence: Direct stormwater management strategies, including Low Impact Development (LID) and SWPPP development.Project Management & Client AdvocacyStrategic Consulting: Advocate for clients by presenting design options, resolving technical hurdles, and advising on engineering best practices.Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure client performance, schedule, and financial benchmarks are met.Firm Representation: Serve as the primary point of contact in project meetings and act as the technical liaison to external stakeholders and municipal agencies.Technical Qualifications & RequirementsLicensure: Registered Ohio Professional Engineer (PE).Experience: 7–10+ years of dedicated experience in Site Development.Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.Technical Breadth: Proven track record in grading, utility design, and municipal engineering (roadway/utility improvements).Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with ODOT standards and storm water pollution prevention.Preferred CredentialsSustainability: LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP).Environmental: Certified Professional in Erosion & Sediment Control (CPESC).Management: Demonstrated experience in formal Project Management (budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline oversight).Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
