Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and perform complex civil engineering tasks for Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit projects. Develop, evaluate, coordinate, or modify design, drawings, specifications and requisitions for earthworks, stormwater, drainage infrastructure, roads, paving, fences, and other civil works under supervision. Supervise engineers and ensure project civil engineering requirements are met. Position is part‑time telework requiring at least three days of in‑person attendance per week.
Major Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct independent civil engineering work requiring judgment in evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of civil engineering techniques for medium‑size projects.
- Lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of civil components and processes using relevant procedures and standards.
- Review and approve key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries.
- Origin and check complex civil engineering deliverables such as drainage and road design calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Develop conceptual designs for civil engineering projects with specialized or unique requirements.
- Prepare or oversee preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget; support implementation and performance reporting.
- Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.
- Mentor civil engineering personnel through on‑job training for professional development.
- Lead constructability reviews.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10–13 years of relevant experience, or 14–17 years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced contributor with specialized skill set.
- High proficiency and expertise in civil engineering discipline.
- Seasoned professional with full understanding of area of specialization, able to resolve a wide range of complex issues creatively and effectively.
