THE POSITION

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking an experienced engineering professional to serve as a Senior Civil Engineer (General) in the Northcentral Engineering Office. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the Northcentral Engineering Office by handling engineering design, construction planning, and project management for complex public facilities. It also provides technical guidance to park and forestry staff throughout the region. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will perform the following duties:

• Project Design: Prepare and review detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for complex structures
• Site Evaluation: Visit project locations to gather measurements, soil samples, and other engineering data
• Permit Management: Complete and review hydraulic calculations and obtain required permits and variances
• Engineering Computations: Apply engineering formulas to complete structural, hydraulic, and watershed calculations
• Construction Oversight: Monitor construction activities, review shop drawings, and process change orders

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Emporium. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
• Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
