Senior Civil Engineer. Location: Buffalo, NY. Job Type: Full-Time.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead and manage civil/site development projects throughout New York State. This role is responsible for overseeing project design, mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies, and ensuring the successful delivery of site development projects. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in civil engineering, project management experience, and a New York Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and management of civil/site development projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, parking lots, stormwater management, and site layout.
- Supervise and mentor engineering staff while reviewing plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports for quality and accuracy.
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams to obtain approvals and ensure project success.
- Support construction activities through engineering guidance, site visits, and technical oversight as needed.
Salary: $130,000 - $170,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with an active New York PE license.
- 10+ years of civil/site design experience, including proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with stormwater management, hydrology/hydraulic design, SWPPP preparation, and permitting for New York projects.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills with the ability to mentor staff and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
